おはようございます！ケリーです。☆
「何で日本に来ましたか。」「何で日本に興味がありますか。」
日本人はこのような質問がよく気になって私に聞きます。
今回はこのことについてちょっと説明したいと思います。

中学校から高校の時まで、スペイン語を勉強していました。高校四年生の時に中国語も勉強していました。外国語を勉強すれば色んな人としゃべれますね。そんなことがすごく面白いと思いますよ。だから、大学の入った時に、中国語と日本語を勉強するつもりでした。でも、両方を学ぶのがどんどん大変になったから、日本語だけを選んで集中することにしました。

他にちょっと恥ずかしいのですが、高校の時にパソコンでよく日本のドラマを見ていました。初めて見るのは「花より団子」というドラマでした。ドラマを見て日本のことをちょっと習いました。そこから興味を持ちました。見ているときに英語の字を読みながら日本語の言葉を聞いたから、すごくいい聞く練習でした。ドラマのおかげで日本に興味が出て、大学に日本語を勉強することにしました。

だから日本語を学ぶために去年の9月に日本に来ました。私が一か月岩泉にいるけど、今月の意外に東京に住んで、早稲田大学で授業を取ります。暇な時に東京で新しい所に行くのが好きです。最近お琴を学ぶためにレッスンも取って始めました。すごく楽しいです。

”Why did you come to Japan?” ”Why are you interested in Japan?”
These are questions Japanese people often wonder about and ask me.
Today, I would like to explain a little.

In middle school and high school, I studied Spanish. In my senior year of high school, I also studied Chinese. If you study a foreign language, you can chat with lots of different people. I think that is very interesting. So, when I came to college, I intended to study both Chinese and Japanese. However, studying both quickly became difficult, so I decided to focus on only Japanese.

Besides that, it a little embarrassing, but in high school, I often watched Japanese television dramas on my computer. The first drama I watched was called Hana Yori Dango. Through watching dramas, I learned about Japan. From that, I became interested in Japan. In addition, because I was listening to Japanese while reading English subtitles, it was very good listening practice. Because of this, I decided to study Japanese in college.

So, I decided to come to study abroad in Japan to learn Japanese. I am in Iwaizumi for a month, but other than this month, I live in Tokyo and take classes at Waseda University. In my free time, I like to go to new parts of Tokyo. Lately, I have also started taking lessons to learn the koto, a Japanese instrument. It is very fun.
