Kelly's Diary in Iwaizumi(No.9) ケリーの岩泉通信

こんにちは！アメリカから来たケリーです。
木曜日に岩泉町の山に住んでいる人に短角牛肉をあげに行きました。釜津田という所に行きました。岩泉町の西のほうにあります。木曜日の前に行ったことないです。
行っているときに止まって七滝明神水という所を見に行きました。素敵でした。冬に大川が特にきれいです。今年の冬が普通より暖かいから川で氷があまりなかったです。だからお水が強く流れていました。
それぞれの行った家でご主人は私と相手に「休んで」と言いました。こんな優しさを信じられないですよ。感動しました。お茶とお菓子を食べながらお客さんとゆっくりしゃべることをできました。
相手としりとりをしながら山の中で車に乗っていました。相手によると春の時に桜や他花が咲く木が多いから山がすごくきれいになるそうです。でも雪の山も素晴らしいと思いますよ。

On Thursday, I went to do a job called Yama Oku. I went and helped deliver Japanese Shorthorn beef to people who live in the mountains of Iwaizumi. I went to a place called Kamatsuda. It is in the western part of Iwaizumi. I had never been there before Thursday.
On the way, I stopped to look at a place called the Seven Waterfalls. It was very beautiful. Ookawa (”Big River”) is particularly beautiful in the winter. Because this winter has been warmer than normal, there was not a lot of ice, and the water was flowing strongly.
At every house we went to, the host invited my partner and me to stay and rest. Such kindness is unbelievable. I was very moved. We enjoyed snacks and tea while chatting with the customers.
While I played shiritori (a Japanese word game) with my partner, we rode in a car through the mountains. According to my partner, because, in the spring, there are many sakura and other flowering trees, the mountains become very pretty. However, I think the snowy mountains are also very beautiful.
